Flint Council To Weigh Proposed Settlement In Former Fire Chief’s Lawsuit

Flint, MI — The Flint City Council plans to reconvene to consider settling a $10 million lawsuit against Mayor Sheldon Neeley relating to the termination of former fire chief Raymond Barton nearly three years ago, a member said.

The council is looking to approve the $225,000 deal because not all members were present during the Wednesday meeting, Flint Councilmember Tonya Burns told The Detroit News. Another vote is planned for July 28, she added.
